Brief historyHull moulded in 1988 and then shipped to Concordia Company Inc in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts for fitting out and upgrades and launch (1989)

Additional information related to the lore that #191 was the last Corbin 39 built - Remarks found within Yankee's brokerage listing, dated 3 October 2005: "The builders engraved plaque in Yankee's pilothouse says, "This is the last Corbin 39 built with loving care" for her original owners before being shipped to Concordia for a custom upgrade before her launch in 1989." Since then, they have maintained her in "Bristol" fashion at Concordia and other fine yards in connection with her passages from the Chesapeake to New England and beyond.

(NOTE: further hulls were in fact moulded, up until #201, but the intention at the time may indeed have been to close the yard)

Willem Zijp voyaged her to Chesapeake Bay, Bermuda, Newfoundland, Canada, Iceland, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Canaries, Cape Verde, and the Caribbean. The name "Basjoc" was a combination of his son's names: Sebastian and Jochem. He wrote a book about it: "Travel Sailing: Mostly single handed, mostly to cold shores" that is available as a Kindle download.
