The Waterworths owned #190, “Kalliste” for five years. They sold Kalliste in 2017 for health reasons and instead bought a large trawler-style motorboat that they can still use, a DeFever. Paul Waterworth is a creator/designer and he carried out some projects on Kalliste.
These photos are of a companionway door he designed and made. It folds outwards into the cockpit and is a two-panel bi-fold door that folds flat against the cockpit moulding when it is open so that it is not an obstruction.
The door locates onto the hinge pins so it can be removed in long open water passages. Also the companion boards could be still used with the door in place as well. The photos are self-explanatory.
It worked very well.
